The REC Hut
The recently refurbished REC building has been designed to provide a light, comfortable and versatile community space that accommodates various age groups and activities.
With seating for 50 people and featuring two restrooms, a modern kitchen, and ample floor space, this area can be easily adapted to suit your needs. Whether you're organising a meeting, running a club, planning a wedding, hosting a special event or a children's party, we encourage you to make the REC your own.
We welcome bookings by local organisations, clubs and individuals.

Hire charges
The St. Mawes Recreation Ground Committee is committed to keeping costs affordable. The rental fee for the REC hut depends on the type of event, which our outlined in the table below. You can book it for an entire day or a single three-hour session, available in the morning, afternoon, or evening.
Furthermore, for Bands C, D and E, a refundable deposit of £100 is required in advance for each hire to cover potential loss or damage, in addition to the hire charges listed below.
Band A
Meetings of local organisations for the benefit of residents of the Parish of St Just in Roseland. Classes for the community that meet Trust objectives. Hiring for fundraising purposes for charities or local non-profit-making events benefiting the community.

Band B
For the purpose(s) as above in Band A but for classes or activities that are in accord with the Deed of Trust where the leader/teacher is being paid and participants pay a low fee – defined as less than £10 per person.

Band C
Hire for local private functions – e.g. parties.

Band D
Hire for a wedding.

Band E
Hire for commercial gain, or for business by individuals, organisations or companies.
